Bill Marcella The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. What I do is Clear, Refocus, and Empower that force -with you. The remedies I practice seek to facilitate the work that your body, mind and spirit do naturally in the healing process. Well-being starts with Thought, Intent and Attention. Body work is more than just a luxury! While it feels great (and that's a good enough reason to get a massage),a growing body of evidence has proven that massage, in addition to relieving stress and muscle pain, aids in many other conditions.Massage, Neuromuscular, Deep Tissue Therapy is both a simple and a complex intervention. Built around the natural impulse to touch a person to provide comfort and to bond, it has powerful effects simply on the basis of providing caring, respectful, and boundary-conscious touch. It has the systemic effects of immune system enhancement and physiological normalization, and it lessens excessive muscle tonus in the body. By reducing the somatosensory noise of muscle tension and compression in the body, as well as quieting the chattering of the mind, massage therapy often makes it possible for people to notice the effects of their body use choices and to make changes that are not of a recipe-nature but that arise spontaneously from an accurate awareness of how their body feels. Precise clinical effects are achieved through the normalization of tension in specific problematic muscles and resolution of myofascial TrPs. Shortened connective tissue is lengthened, and often numerous sub clinical nervous system compromises are alleviated. There are numerous other affects that Massage therapy may have on, for example:
This helps to balance and stimulate the flow of energy through the body. For many people therapies I practices interrupts what is known as the “pain-spasm” cycle that occurs with an injury. Once this cycle is broken both pain and muscle spasm begin to subside and patients experience substantial relief from many of their symptoms such as: an improvement in joint mobility and muscle flexibility; an improvement in the circulation of lymphatic and venous fluids; better assimilation of nutrients and the elimination of toxins; a reduction of physical, emotional and mental stress; and a better overall flow of energy through the entire body. The following is a list of some of the most common applications for Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy where positive results have been reported:
